The Outpost has 5 separate lodges that offer 44 rustic rooms situated on 4.5 acres along a tranquil stretch of the Guadalupe River.  There’s a clubhouse with a pool for the kids and an on-site tube & raft rental for the hot, sunny days of summer.  Swim and tube down the lazy river bend to your room or just hang out on the banks of the Guadalupe under ancient native pecan trees and soak in the atmosphere. The Gruene Outpost River Lodge is available for your pleasure.

All of our rooms sleep at least 4 people, 27 of them have full kitchens, a table, and a couple of chairs. We are less than a mile away from the historic village of Gruene. Shopping, restaurants, the oldest dance hall in the state hosting the most famous names in Texas music and the biggest restaurant in Texas are all a stone’s throw away.  Tavern on the Gruene (our version of Cheers) has a full bar, live music nightly, and never a cover charge.  Bubba’s Big Deck hangs out over the Gruene Rapids – it’s a great place to have a cold one as you watch people splash down the falls.  Transportation to local entertainment venues such as Gruene Hall and River Road Icehouse as well as Schlitterbahn, Wurstfest, Sangerfest, the Comal County Fair and all other attractions and events in the immediate area is available. ($5 per person to local hangouts – 10 person minimum.  Reservations must be made prior to 5 pm and pre-paid.  Tip your driver!)

Get on the bus and leave the driving to us.  Oh yeah … Billy’s Icehouse, another neighborhood watering hole, is within walking distance.
